Artist Statement

The reason I am an artist is to push my own personal boundaries as both an artist and as a person.
I am led by a “felt sense” and react to stimuli, so my work is not based on communication but on a visual experience. I prefer to focus on the human figure and explore its many modes of expression and characteristics in relation to its current activity. My main influence was a book titled "Bio-Spirituality"; it is based on the belief that the body has knowledge that the mind cannot comprehend, and the body’s way of communicating is through symbols, imagery, and memories but it has to be "felt"; not in terms of emotional feelings but "experiental" feelings, like when you feel a piece of paper or experience the wind blowing. When I manipulate the body’s expression, I am trying to show how the body is ’talking" by its movements and the person’s "experience" to what it is doing.
This is my journey, I can work no other way.
