Artist Statement

NEO-HUMANISM (Definition) n *The human figure distorted to express movement;*A figurative painting in action/reaction; *A challenging way to view the human figure in action; *A non-static figurative painting.

The feature online exhibition is my show at the University of Guelph-Humber. During the opening night reception, the public was intrigued by my paintings as all night I was being asked questions about what is the reason I paint one eye the way I do? Why do I distort the human figure? What is the story behind "The Venetian Masks: An Allegory" series? The host and hostesses were constantly sending people my way to meet the artist and answer their questions. The public gave me numerous compliments on my work, asked for my website and one girl asked for my autograph! The curator came to me later during the night and said, "I have been listening to the comments and reactions to the paintings all night and I can tell you, you’ve reached them!" I thought to myself afterwards, "Wow. My work is touching a new generation."
