Artist Statement
The feature exhibitions are "Neo-Humanism Nudes’ and "Face and Hands". Click on the images to the right under "Exhibitions" where you can view the gallery window.
My childhood was filled with comics, cartoons on tv, and book illustrations. These areas focus on the human figure: its language, its character, modes of expression, how one acts/reacts. I am not interested in painting the representation of the human figure but in painting the human figure. The limbs and body are exaggerated to enhance the expression, the body’s need to communicate, and looks at the figure’s humanity. The paintings are about a raw experience.
As an artist, my only job is to experience life, dwell in it, and express it. I paint and draw so I don’t have to write or speak about it.
This is my journey, I can work no other way.
